Stella & Jamie Charity Pop Up Shop

This Friday from 6-9pm in downtown LA, I will be co-hosting a pop-up shop charity event with fellow fashion blogger @citizensrunway. It will be a night of fashion, styling, food, and discounts! This is a collaborative event alongside designer, Stella & Jamie to support Freedom & Fashion, a non-profit organization that aims to aid and empower female victims of human trafficking.  April Mun of Stella & Jamie has styled numerous celebrities including Taylor Swift, the Kardashians, and Taraji Henson and her pieces can be found at a favorite store of mine, Anthropologie. This Friday night at the pop-up, her pieces will be marked down to sample sale prices at a steal with proceeds going towards the Fashion & Freedom charity. I personally love her modern, feminine, fashion-forward designs and what better way to shop knowing that a percentage of sales will go towards a great cause. Please feel free to invite or pass this along to your friends who enjoy shopping and/or supporting a great cause. Participating in charities like these that better the community and draw awareness to injustice and others in need is what makes all this blogger biz all the more worthwhile for me and let’s be honest, this human trafficking business is a sick, atrocious crime that’s just disgustingly wrong on so many levels so please ‘pop up’ at this meaningful event and bring your friends! We’re excited and would love to see you there and meet you this Friday for a night of charity and fashion!  =)

More about Freedom and Fashion from Executive Director, Laverne Delgado:

“Here’s a little bit about Freedom and Fashion.  As you know, each human was created for freedom.  Using the arts of fashion and beauty, we create empowering programs that mentor, love, and help to bring freedom to at-risk young women and many of them survivors of the sex trade. (check out our video here)
In our program our main focus is on the power of story. Getting these girls from “victim” to inspirer using their story! I wish I could tell you about every break through we’ve had with these girls. They are tough young women I’ll tell you that! (here’s a past video where one of our girls, Marranda, talks about her experience).
Our next program is/was in Bangladesh (though it is now postponed due to the recent terrorist attack in Dhaka – where we were set to land. We were actually set to be there now.) Though it is on hold, you can see more on that here. There’s a possibility of us going in Nov.”
